Get Active and Play

For those keen to stretch their legs or try something new, Torpoint and its surroundings offer plenty of ways to get moving.

Sailors, paddleboarders and kayakers can practice their skills from many launch spots, while swimmers can enjoy the gentle beaches or braver dips in the wild sea. Lifeguards are in service at beaches Freathy, Sharrow, Tregantle and Tregonhawke.

Thanckes Park boasts a skate park (what3words) and Bowls Club, or book a session on the LTA-standard tennis courts. Hidden away nearby is Bénodet Park walled garden, a quite oasis and occasional concert arena (what3words).‍

Elsewhere on the peninsula, Cyclists will find plenty to love too. With scenic rides along quiet country lanes, challenging hill climbs and rewarding coastal routes. The Torpoint Ferry or Cremyll Ferry adds a touch of adventure, just cross the Tamar and link up with cycle routes heading through Plymouth to the Moors.

And a short hop away in Millbrook, the recently build skate park (what3words) provides a brilliant spot for skaters and BMX riders to practice their tricks.  Mount Edgcumbe’s expansive grounds are perfect for longer hikes with rewarding views avariety of ctivities on offer - see what's on here.
