Thanckes Park

Thanckes Park is Torpoint’s green heart. A quiet open space perfect for picnics, gentle strolls, or letting the kids run free. Overlooking the River Tamar, it offers peaceful views and a welcome escape.

For the more active, Thanckes Park currently has a skate park (what3words), built in 2001. Local community group Torpoint Ramps Forum are proactively working on designs and fundraising for a state-of-the-art concrete park. Watch this space! - and if you’re visiting, please ride carefully on the existing equipment. Alternatively you can book a session on the newly refurbished LTA-standard tennis courts. For younger visitors, the play park (what3words) will burn some energy!

Hidden away nearby is Bénodet Park walled garden, a quite oasis and occasional concert arena (what3words). And for the calmer competitors, Thanckes Park is also the home of Torpoint Bowls Club.

The park also has free parking and access to public conveniences.
