Whitsand Bay

Whitsand Bay is renowned for its stunning cliffs and expansive sandy beaches. This hidden gem is perfect for those seeking a quieter beach experience, great for walking, surfing or just enjoying the natural beauty of the Rame Peninsula.

It also forms a dramatic part of the Cornish Coast Path, inviting walkers to explore its breathtaking cliff-top views and hidden beaches along the way. This is the place for salt-on-your-skin adventures: surfing, sea swimming, or simply breathing in the fresh Atlantic air. Walkers can roam the cliff paths for breathtaking views, while beachcombers hunt for treasure and shells at low tide. It’s beautiful and a little untamed, perfect for those who like their seaside escapes raw and real. Whether you want action or quiet reflection, Whitsand Bay offers the best of nature’s dramatic charm.

The RNLI lifeguards operate between 10am and 6pm daily at beaches Freathy, Sharrow, Tregantle and Tregonhawke from May to September. And the easiest access down to the beach is from the car park near Tregantle Fort.
